About Tim Vittetoe
Tim has been involved in film making, custom prop design, makeup and special visual effects for over 25 years.  Tim’s projects include visual effects, special effects make-up, miniatures and props for companies such as Walt Disney, NBC-Universal and MTV. His work has been seen on SPIKE TV in national TV commercials, and in local films including Last Stand, Snow Day, Bloody Snow Day, Future Syn, and Missing Girl: The Carrie Burke Story (2006 Audience Award winner at The New York International Independent Film & Video Arts Festival).  Tim has also created large, eye-catching props for national billboard ad campaigns for companies such as IKEA and Virgin Atlantic.

Tim headed the special effects makeup team on Star Trek: Of Gods and Men and recreated the "Guardian of Forever" prop that was originally seen in the 1967 episode City on the Edge of Forever from the original Star Trek series.

• A unique cake topper that appears in the opening sequence for Fox’s sitcom Grounded for Life
• A foam latex prosthetic arm used in an MTV television promo of Friday the 13th
• A model replica of the 1969 NASA lunar landing module for a Microsoft promo video
• An award winning large scale furniture prop used in a national outdoor billboard advertising campaign for IKEA

Tim’s passion for the arts continues to drive him to seek creative and innovative solutions.  On larger projects, he teams with other artisans who contribute a variety of skills to meet the unique challenges.  Tim’s passion for his work is best said by a quote from Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can or think you can't, you're right.”
